Meet your tutor, Debbie
“Every child can accelerate and reach the highest levels, if they receive the high-quality teaching and support that all children deserve.”
During my career I have taught in Scotland, UK and also in the United Arab Emirates. Having spent 6 years building relationships overseas and mentoring children from various backgrounds and cultures I made the decision to take Mighty Minds Tutoring online to ensure I could continue my teaching relationship with children all over the world.
During my time teaching in The United Arab Emirates I was awarded with an Excellence Award. This was in recognition of my outstanding achievement and excellent educational performance in the Emirate Schools Council. My exemplary teaching practices allow for successful tutoring sessions, equipping children with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to excel in their learning.
Throughout my career, I have extensive experience in developing, implementing and evaluating multifaceted lesson plans to accommodate multiple learning styles and abilities. I have acted as a mentor to numerous student teachers on teaching practice or observation, demonstrating outstanding practice and professional conduct.
Through my role as an appointed Phonics Coordinator, I delivered whole school professional development on the phonics scheme and supported staff in the implementation of this phonics scheme. As a result, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience of working with children who are struggling to grasp concepts of early reading and writing. I have a bank of highly effective strategies that I use with my students to help them overcome any challenges they are facing with reading or writing.
